Rooted In Care, Standing In Solidarity
Lately, our hearts have been heavy.
What’s happening in our neighborhoods, to our neighbors, to families who deserve safety and dignity…it’s something we cannot ignore. At Wanderlux, we have always believed that care goes far beyond the services we provide. Care means showing up for people. Care means protecting one another. Care means standing together when things feel uncertain or frightening.
For some of our own team, this isn’t distant or abstract. It is deeply personal. Members of our Wanderlux family have experienced the pain of losing loved ones to immigration-related separation and deportation ~ a father, a child, an uncle. These are not headlines to us. These are real people, real families, and real grief.
We do not stand for the fear and harm that immigration enforcement actions are bringing into our local communities. We believe every human being deserves to feel safe where they live, work, and raise their families. Silence doesn’t feel aligned right now ~ compassion and action do.
So we are doing what we can, in the ways we know how.
Inside our space, we are actively raising money to support our neighbors. All funds raised through our raffle and upcoming t-shirt sales will go directly to GR Rapid Response to ICE, a local network of volunteers working to protect and support families right here in Grand Rapids. Our raffle is happening now through Wednesday, featuring a collection of beautiful services generously donated by our team and community partners. And this Friday from 4–6 PM, we are opening our doors for a community gathering — a place to land, to breathe, to be together, and to feel held during a time that feels anything but steady.
Wanderlux has always been about more than beauty or wellness. It’s about humanity. It’s about belonging. It’s about showing up for each other when it matters most.
